The Department of Psychiatry, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Department of Psychiatry of The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH), are seeking to recruit a Psychiatrist Forensic Psychiatry Division, to provide clinical care in the inpatient and outpatient program as part of the Forensic Division, Complex Care and Recovery Program.
There are teaching opportunities with undergraduate and post graduate students, forensic psychiatry subspecialty residents and fellows, as well as potential opportunities for engagement in creative professional activities.
The successful candidate must be eligible for a full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer, Assistant, Associate or full Professor at the University of Toronto.
Effective start date is January 2025 or shortly thereafter.
The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is Canada’s largest mental health teaching hospital and one of the world’s leading research centres in its field.

The successful applicant must hold an MD degree, must be Board certified or Board Eligible in Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Specialty, and must be eligible for medical licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
The position requires an individual who has additional training or equivalent experience as well as a record of excellence in scholarship.
The successful candidate will have a strong record of relevant research accomplishment.
Remuneration is in accordance with the compensation of a psychiatrist in the province of Ontario. Estimated remuneration will be in the range of $250,000 - $300,000 per annum, commensurate with academic rank, qualifications and experience.

The Forensic Service at CAMH is a growing and vibrant clinical program of over 190 inpatient beds, court and community programs, a sexual behaviors program and a correction-based mental health service.
We have strong research involvement in multiple areas including correctional mental health, sexual behaviors, neurobiology of aggression, risk and secure recovery.
The successful candidate will join a collegial team of over 25 psychiatrists and will provide exemplary team-based psychiatric care for people with acute or persisting mental illness, including concurrent substance use disorders.
The ideal candidate will have exemplary clinical skills and experience working with an interdisciplinary team, and be dedicated to high quality patient-centered care.
Additionally, as a full-time staff member at CAMH, the candidate will provide on-call services as part of their clinical responsibilities.
