Job Description
We are currently seeking a Process Compliance Specialist to join our team.
The Process Compliance specialist works with squads, displaying an agile mindset, values, and principles. They provide IT governance to ensure alignment to First West management policies, frameworks, guidelines and practices.
The Process Compliance Specialist validates the squads have identified the impact and risks associated with proposed changes and ensure the associated controls and mitigation strategies are identified for a successful implementation.
The specialist ensures existing controls are modified to ensure we are within appropriate First West risk levels. Collaborates with key stakeholders as required for feedback and involvement to ensure success and seeks to identify opportunities to improve approaches and practices.
We are open to filling this role across Canada, however, please note preference will be given to those that are located in BC due to the proximity of our office locations.

Here's what would be included as a part of your typical day
Technology Governance : works closely with IT leadership to support the implemented processes and participate in the ongoing improvements in the technology governance program.
Interface with stakeholders throughout the enterprise including regulatory and operational risk to facilitate compliance with federal regulations.
Risk Mitigation : Liaises with Centres of Expertise including Regulatory, Legal, Operations, Credit, Information Technology, Finance, and Agile squads as needed for the purpose of following risk and compliance frameworks.
Support first line of defense for the identification and mitigation of risks utilizing the control repository aligned with the approach of the 2nd line of defense.
To ensure proper controls and monitoring are in place for the prioritized and value created outcomes generated from Agile squad.
Business Process Analysis : Liaises with business owners and stakeholders across the organization on the planning, design, development, and implementation of new or enhanced business processes to ensure adherence to risk management and regulatory requirements.
Understands and applies in depth knowledge of the risk and compliance frameworks to ensure business processes are bringing value.
Squad Work Completion : Contributes to the delivery of squad deliverables, as prioritized by the Product Owner, focused on IT governance.
Plays a key role to ensure artifacts produced by the squad have visibility to key stakeholders and have alignment between first and second line of defense.
Best Practices Development : Attend Chapter meetings and contribute to the refinement and development of process compliance chapter best practices.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in related discipline required
- 4 year's of related experience in business operations or Risk management or an equivalent combination of education and experience required
- Agile Certification training would be an asset
- Risk Certification would be an asset
- Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team environment (agile squad
- Adaptability, nimbleness, and strong organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to think both strategically and tactically, looking for problem solving through innovation
- Brings a high-energy, "can-do" passionate outlook to the job and can influence those around them
- Apply critical thinking to effectively assess risks and opportunities
- Advanced knowledge of the concepts, theories, practices and techniques of business operations and Risk Management.
- Proven business relationship management skills with the ability to influence others at all levels within the organization and form relationships with different business units
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing with a wide variety of stakeholders
- Displays an understanding of risk and risk ownership by being able to demonstrate adherence to policies and procedures.
Pay Transparency
Salary Range : $73,920 - $94,700
