Our client is sourcing a Controller for a 3-month contract.

About the Opportunity

• Shape and guide financial decision-making through the creation, oversight, and reinforcement of internal financial frameworks
• Design and maintain control mechanisms that safeguard organizational resources, workflows, and operational integrity
• Provide hands-on leadership to the accounting function, fostering accountability, collaboration, and efficiency
• Support, develop, and coach team members through ongoing guidance and performance support
• Monitor protections around incoming funds, expenditures, and departmental and company-wide financial plans
• Ensure all financial activity is captured accurately and within required timelines
• Partner with executive leadership to define performance metrics and reporting structures across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles
• Apply consistent financial methodologies across business units while staying aligned with evolving statutory requirements
• Maintain adherence to all applicable federal, provincial, and professional compliance obligations
• Oversee statutory remittances, including indirect taxes and payroll-related filings
• Prepare and review recurring and period-end accounting adjustments
• Own the integrity and structure of the primary accounting records
• Review and authorize balance sheet and control account reconciliations
• Produce management-level financial reporting with variance and trend analysis
• Build and maintain short-term liquidity forecasting models (13-week and 26-week horizons)
• Contribute to annual planning processes, including forecasts and financial outlooks
• Support financial systems, ERP tools, and accounting technology initiatives
• Coordinate and manage external audit activities and supporting documentation

• Professional accounting designation required (CPA)
• Postsecondary education in accounting, finance, or a related discipline preferred
• Progressive experience in senior accounting or finance roles (5–10 years)
• Demonstrated people-leadership experience (minimum 3–5 years)
• Strong technical proficiency in spreadsheet-based financial analysis
• Practical exposure to Tier 1 or Tier 2 ERP platforms
