Senior Accountant, Accounts Payable
Location : Metro Vancouver Area (Relocating to South Surrey, Summer 2025)
About the Opportunity :
An established power solutions company with over 40 years of excellence is seeking a Senior Accountant - AP to join our dynamic and growing team. This role will play a pivotal part in overseeing national AP functions, vendor relations, and supporting financial operations across multiple Canadian branches.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead day-to-day AP operations including invoice processing, vendor payments, reconciliations, and reporting.
- Ensure timely, accurate posting of vendor invoices and utilities in alignment with credit terms and contracts.
- Maintain AP process integrity across multiple locations, including matching POs, packing slips, and shipment documentation.
- Monitor and process EFTs, wires, and oversee the check run process within banking portals.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain compliance with ASPE, tax filings (Payroll, WCB, EHT), and internal controls.
- Provide mentorship to junior accounting staff and collaborate cross-functionally across departments.
- Leverage ERP (Manufacturing based) for AP, inventory, and fixed asset tracking; assist with system improvements.
- Ensure accurate commission and credit card expense postings related to service jobs.
- Contribute to ongoing process enhancements and support internal / external audits.

Experience and Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA designation or in advanced stage of completion5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environmentExperience in a company that has multiple locationsStrong knowledge of ASPE, financial reporting, and internal controlsExtensive accounting experience within ERP systems, preferably EpicorKnowledge and practical experience in ERP implementations would be an assetAdvanced knowledge of Excel and MS SuiteExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsSelf-motivated, detail-oriented, and adaptable in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal skills to work effectively across different teamsIf this sounds like the role is for you, please apply today!
