Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Operations department to promote automation by developing, testing and integrating automated machinery, robotics and computer-controlled mechanical systems across Intelcom | Dragonfly's network.
  • Build a strategy and roadmap for the Systems Engineering team that aligns with the business by balancing quality, time and budget.
  • Partner with the senior leadership to represent the Systems Engineering team across the organization.
  • Oversee the design and integration of complex systems, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and efficient.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software development and product management, to ensure seamless integration and delivery of systems.
  • Prioritize the work and oversee the successful execution of the Systems Engineering team on projects.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues in system design and implementation.
  • Promote a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the Systems Engineering team and the broader organization.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in systems engineering to drive innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Promote the standardization of the Systems Engineering discipline at Intelcom.
  • Lead the Systems Engineering team in establishing and executing operational policies that promote agility and scalability.
  • Lead efforts in recruitment and onboarding.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to the Systems Engineering team members, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Develop strategic partnerships to leverage third party technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (software, electrical, mechanical, etc.).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience and a track record of success in managing teams and executing on technological projects.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and managing engineering teams in the development of complex systems.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Demonstrated team leadership : effective team management skills / mentorship skills; ability to rally the team / organization around an exciting vision; relentless drive and ability to take initiatives to try new ideas and solve complex business problems.
  • Business acumen mindset, awareness within and outside the business, and ability to develop growth strategies for the Systems Engineering team and for the organization.
  • Experience working with multi-discipline cross functional teams, utilizing strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience in conducting R&D activities.
  • Experience in Agile methodology and technical project execution.
  • Other skills

  • Ability to drive vision and purpose, inspiring the organization around a compelling vision of what is possible.
  • Strong initiative and resilience, with a demonstrated ability to explore new ideas and innovative approaches to solving complex problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent communications skills in both French and English.
  • Be able and comfortable evolving in fast-moving environment.
