Business Systems Analyst – Financial Services
The Business Systems Analyst will serve as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, responsible for analyzing business requirements, documenting system specifications, and ensuring technology solutions align with organizational objectives. This role focuses on evaluating existing systems, identifying improvement opportunities, and facilitating the implementation of system enhancements with development teams.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Analysis & Documentation
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document detailed business and functional requirements.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical specifications for development teams.
- Create comprehensive documentation including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), and user stories.
- Develop process flow diagrams, system interaction maps, and data flow documentation.
System Analysis & Design
Analyze current business processes and systems to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and improvement opportunities.Evaluate existing system capabilities and limitations to recommend optimal solutions.Participate in system design sessions and provide input on technical architecture decisions.Stakeholder Management
Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders.Manage expectations and communicate project status, risks, and dependencies to various stakeholder groups.Testing & Quality Assurance
Work with QA teams to develop test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria based on business requirements.Coordinate and participate in system testing phases including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing.Validate that delivered solutions meet documented requirements and business objectives.Support troubleshooting and resolution of system issues during testing and post-implementation phases.Project Support
Monitor project deliverables and timelines to ensure successful completion of initiatives.Participate in change management activities.Contribute to post-implementation reviews and production support / user queries.Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.3–5 years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, or a related IT role.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.Proficiency in requirements gathering techniques and documentation methodologies.Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and project management methodologies.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Confluence, JIRA, and other business analysis tools.Knowledge of database concepts and SQL.Preferred Qualifications
Professional certification in business analysis (CBAP, CCBA, or similar).Experience with Agile / Scrum methodologies.Experience in financial services or other regulated industries.
