Shift / Hours – Afternoon shift

Salary - $76,500-$80,000

About This Opportunity

Reporting to the Warehouse Manager, the Warehouse Supervisor is on the warehouse floor to lead their team and ensure the products are properly received, stored, and shipped. The Supervisor works as a coach and mentor to their team. Safety and product quality should be top of mind in this role. To succeed in this position, the Warehouse Supervisor must be capable of planning the workload, motivating their team, and offering great customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of warehouse employees, while respecting budgetary constraints
  • Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing health and safety policies and regulations.
  • Supervise a warehouse team consisting of shipper / receivers, recyclers, cleaners and lead hands
  • Oversee the storage of, and the shipping and receiving of goods
  • Work with the supervisory and management team to develop a work environment that promotes good working relationships and ongoing communication with unionized employees
  • Develop and apply control methods to maintain a high level of labour efficiency
  • Take part in any other related projects or tasks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Experience and / or education in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a unionized storage or distribution environment required.
  • Be a leader, a good communicator, and be familiar with the application of a collective bargaining agreement in a unionized work environment.
  • Ability to look forward to recognize potential issues and create a plan to correct
  • Possess excellent organization and time-management skills.
  • Ability to make sound recommendations based on systematic evaluations.
  • Ability to provide guidance, motivation, and training for development of the team.
  • Ability to cultivate, manage and foster a diverse team of employees.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office and SAP computer tools.
