We continue to grow and today are looking for a committed, talented, star to join our team as our FSQA Compliance Auditor.
Position Summary / Objective :
The position supports the Corporate Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager in ensuring successful operation of Riverside’s Food Safety and Quality Management System by executing and leading the internal FSQA system audit program.
They are passionate about food safety, quality and always lead with a continuous improvement mindset.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Demonstrate and uphold Riverside’s Core Values and purpose
- Understand and enforce Riverside’s Food Safety / Quality policies and procedures
- Responsible for scheduling and maintaining internal audit calendar, conducting and coordinating internal audits with the other internal auditors for the entire organization to ensure we are meeting all food safety, regulatory, certification, and customer requirements (CFIA, FDA, BRC, Gluten Free, Kosher, Organic, Vegan etc.)
- Identify potential food safety hazards, issues completed audit report with corrective actions to relevant department Managers and Supervisors
- Influence others and ensure that effective CAPA plan implemented and completed in a timely matter for internal audit non-conformance to drive continuous improvement.
Use Internal audits as a tool for proactive approach for the mitigation of food safety risk
- Maintain audit records / dashboards to measure and track food safety performance. Update the business regularly on the internal audit performance, trend and KPIs
- Support the development and completion of Riverside’s Food Safety Foundations
- Support various continuous improvement projects with responsibility and efforts focused on food safety programming and challenges
- Document processes using flow diagrams and apply critical thinking to identify improvement opportunities
- Support plant teams to ensure all Private Label (PL) company requirements and internal audits are always met
- Keeps the work atmosphere FUN by keeping it light and welcoming
- Other duties as assigned
Education & Qualifications
- Degree in Food Science and Technology or a related field
- Min 5 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry, with strong knowledge and experience in the requirements of BRC standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP principles, quality improvement tools and root cause analysis
- Strong auditing skill and previous experience in conducting and coordinating internal audits.
- BRC, PCQI, internal / lead auditor certifications
- Strong understanding of food safety regulations for Canada, the U.S. and globally
- Proven desire to learn and passion for technical fields
- Proficiency user of root cause analysis techniques, statistical process control, and other continuous improvement methodology
- Strong functional knowledge of various computer applications including MS Office Suite
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with process mapping and SOP development

- Strong analytical and detailed oriented skills with the ability to identify root cause and solve problems
- Self-starter with a high level of initiative, ADAPTABILITY andflexibility to adjust work schedule to meet the requirements of the plants
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including the ability to make presentations and conduct training; and to write policies and procedures
- Passionateindividual that has the ability to develop relationships and the business
- TEAM player with a positive attitude
- Demonstrates HUMILITY throughout the company on a day-to-day basis
