Job Description and Responsibilities

Join EVRAZ North America's team in Red Deer as a Maintenance Supervisor, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our state-of-the-art facilities. As a key contributor to our team, you will lead and inspire a dedicated crew, overseeing routine maintenance and urgent repairs that keep our workflows efficient and safe. Your efforts will directly support our commitment to quality and sustainability in steel manufacturing.

  • Ensure the safety of department personnel and the safe operation of all equipment and machinery in the pipe mills
  • Execution of Maintenance Tasks in a proper and safe manner - Coordinate maintenance, electrical, welding electrical Techs to achieve planned objectives and preserve production output. Includes coordination of Contract staff where applicable
  • Control an inventory of mechanical spare parts, ensuring that all spare parts are purchased
  • Manage budgets (consumables, tooling, overtime, etc...)
  • In consultation with the Manager, Maintenance, manage and address performance issues (including determining appropriate disciplinary action)
  • Train department personnel in safety practices, troubleshooting procedures, and familiarizing them with mill equipment and machinery
  • Provide recommendations to the Manager, Maintenance on improved systems and procedures, work schedules, new equipment purchases, or improvements that might improve efficiency or safety
  • Maintain Kronos timekeeping and holiday schedules for department personnel
  • Acquire and maintain proper documentation of equipment. This includes work orders

Requirements :

  • At least 2-3 years supervisory experience in manufacturing industry
  • Require a thorough knowledge of mechanical equipment, systems and procedures and a minimum of Journeyman Millwright qualifications. Engineering Diploma or degree preferred
  • Mechanical experience, especially within the pipe-making industry
  • Good understanding of equipment technologies, limitations, and their effect on safety, quality, productivity and cost
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools such as MS Word, and Excel
