AV Group NB Inc. Atholville Mill is currently recruiting for the following position : Power Engineer – Steam & Recovery Operator

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain a power plant or any low pressure steam plant by operating, repairing and carrying out preventative maintenance on the boilers, emergency power, and other related equipment in compliance with applicable codes and regulations.
• Monitor control of operation through DCS (distributed computer system).
• Effectively troubleshoot equipment.
• Maintain accurate and thorough log entries and perform necessary testing.
• Optimize and control materials to efficiently treat and dispose into the recovery system.
• Work in collaboration with other operators.
• Lubricate, oil, and assist in preventative maintenance on all machinery.
• Maintain proper housekeeping in all related steam plant areas.
• Respond to trouble calls and carry out necessary corrective action during weekends and off shifts.
• Participate in plant equipment repairs and installations.
• Interface with necessary contractual and inspection departments for corrective requirements.
