Dow has an opportunity for a Cost Accountant located in Fort Saskatchewan, AB . In this role, you will ensure accounting activity recorded within the company’s records and books are accurate and complete.

This position is responsible for budgeting, product costing, recording, reporting, analyzing and communicating functional / business activity results.

Responsibilities / Duties

Ensures financial statements accurately reflect the results of operations and the financial position of the Company.

Assists the function / business management teams in financial analysis necessary for decision making.

Records, monitors, reports, and communicates function / business results, and ensures activity is accurate, complete, and compliant to accounting standards.

Completes product costing of materials, reviews for variances, and corrects / communicates results to business / plant management.

Performs product inventory reviews and fixed assets reviews.

Provides financial analysis to function / business management teams as needed for project studies, options analysis and productivity / benchmarking measurements.

Establishes and maintains an ongoing working relationship with other sub-processes and functions.

Helps facilitate the budget setting process and monthly / quarterly estimate process.

Qualifications :

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration OR relevant military experience at a U.

S. E6 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class, Sergeant ranking or higher

  • A minimum of 1 year of work experience
  • A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship / support is available for this position, including for any type of permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • An accounting designation (i.e. CPA) would be an asset, but not a requirement.
  • Work experience in the accounting field is desirable.
