What you will achieve in this role :

  • Manage purchasing and planning activities, ensuring effective procurement, distribution planning, forecasting, and customs compliance.
  • Oversee vendor performance and develop strong global supplier relations to support diversified sourcing across multiple industries.
  • Leverage knowledge of seasonal demand planning and forward forecast planning to optimize inventory and supply chain efficiency.
  • Coordinate and manage international logistics operations, ensuring compliance with tariffs and regulations for both domestic and global markets.
  • Develop product profiles, perform cost analysis, and maintain accurate planning and scheduling operations.
  • Implement and maintain an effective traffic program, negotiating rates and transportation methods for inbound and outbound freight.
  • Collaborate with branch and sales teams to review forecasts and align inventory strategies with overall company goals.
  • Drive process improvements through participation in Lean Enterprise and Supplier Lean Integration initiatives.

What you must bring to this role :

  • A post-secondary degree or diploma, or equivalent practical experience and certification in purchasing or production management.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in purchasing management, including production, traffic, and transportation, with prior supervisory experience.
  • Expertise in logistics management for both domestic and international operations.
  • Proven ability to plan, schedule, and execute procurement strategies efficiently.
  • Strong management skills with a demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively.
  • A proactive mindset with exceptional organizational and communication skills.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
