DevOps Specialist

Position Description :

As a DevOps Technical Lead, you will be joining an experienced and dynamic team of global IT professionals serving our clients across Canada and the world.

Reliability Clearance required : Eligible : 5+ years residing in Canada

Your future duties and responsibilities :

• Connect with the application development leads, architects and development team to create a best-in-class DevOps environment for mission-critical financial market applications.
• Utilize programming languages and industry DevOps tools to create, update and modernize the DevOps environment for Financial Markets and Banking Operations.
• Represent the DevOps team as a SME including estimating capacity and throughput necessary for forecasting implementation and development activities.
• Provide deployment services to ensure the proper deployment and support of application release in progress and the final deployments into production
• Provide production support working with operational support groups to determine the root cause behind critical production incidents and process challenges
• participate to build a vision for the DevOps pipeline implementation
• Take a leadership role in ensuring the Bank stays modern and current with DevOps implementation
• Collaborate, share ideas, and coach colleagues
• Work to reduce technical debt and improve operational support.
• Provide thought leadership on software building, Git security, cloud adoption
• Drives cultural and technical change, through coaching, mentoring and influencing in how people think / approach problems
• Be responsible for the consistency of development processes and coding solutions across DevOps Specialists
• Deliver the most complex components of the solution with high technical proficiency
• Design and maintain the DevOps toolchain using industry best practices and new advances

Required qualifications to be successful in this role :

Must Have :

Hands-on experience with :

DevOps principles and tools (e.g. : Git, Jenkins, Nexus, Flyway, etc.)

Automation concepts and implementation experience with automation

Developing with complex applications, mid-tier, database, UNIX, Linux and Windows systems

Providing production support working with operational support groups

Strong source code management experience and application building experience

Risk and vulnerability assessment with a secure DevOps pipeline

Developing and maintaining automated deployment scripts

Reliability Clearance will be done : Eligibility is for people residing in Canada for more than 5+ years

Nice to Have :

Experience integrating with an enterprise service bus and queue management system (i.e. : MuleSoft, MQ, etc...)

Experience with enterprise job scheduling solutions
