MATRIX is seeking a Lead Housekeeper on a rotational basis for projects across Canada in some of the most remote locations. Reporting directly to the Camp Manager, the Lead Housekeeper is the primary position to oversee all Housekeepers in Camp.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of Supervisory experience working in remote camps, safely and productively whilst managing the day-to-day tasks for up to 8 direct reports. This is a demanding position and will require the incumbent to be flexible with their personal schedule to be able to serve the needs of the business during seasonal peak operating times.
The Lead Housekeeper performs a wide range of duties including some or all the following :
- Conduct daily Toolbox meetings.
- Regular Check Ins with Housekeepers on site.
- Review and sign off on Daily Housekeeping Checklists.
- Perform tasks according to safe work practices and safe job procedures.
- Report all incidents and accidents immediately.
- Always practice good housekeeping in the work area.
- Perform cleaning and sanitization of all surfaces, equipment in the shower and washroom areas, and any office space as required.
- Clean and sanitize common spaces at work site, TV room, Recreational room, Drillers Dry, Dining room, Laundry room.
- Sweep, Mop and sanitize floors as required.
- Ensure wet floor signs are visible and set up.
- Wash and replace bed linens / kitchen linens as required.
- Ensure the dryer lint vents are cleared of lint and debris.
- Sanitize the washing machines and dryers.
- Empty waste bins in the shower, washroom, common areas and office area as required.
- Sleeping quarters to be cleaned and sanitized before and after crew arrive / depart site, PPE MUST be worn.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies are properly labelled and stored in accordance with WHMIS.
- Ensure the Executive Chef is aware of cleaning supplies and paper products that need to be ordered and the quantity required.
- As per direction from The Camp Manager, and Executive Chef perform cleaning and sanitization of all surfaces, equipment, small wares, tables and condiment accessories on the tables in dining room and kitchen area.
- Any other cleaning or janitorial duties as assigned by the Camp Manager.
Qualifications :
Minimum of one (1) year’s previous experience working in a Camp Lead Housekeeping role.Organizational and problem-solving abilities.Solid verbal and written communication skills in English.Highly motivated, team-oriented individual.Ability to work a rotation schedule.Physical ability to lift and move a minimum of 50 lbs.Ability to work and maintain a high level of performance during a 10 - 12-hour shift.To apply :
