Your Opportunity

Dillon’s Community Design practice seeks a Traffic Engineer / Technologist to join our multidisciplinary team. You will work on exciting projects, providing clients with a fully integrated and superior customer experience.

We operate as one team, and this position is available at any of our Ontario offices .

Responsibilities

What your day will look like

Technical Activities & Administration

  • Contribute to transportation / traffic planning and design projects, including traffic analysis, parking reviews, road safety audits, signage, pavement marking, neighbourhood traffic management, and transportation demand management.
  • Support Dillon’s technical staff and project managers in project delivery for public and private clients.
  • Provide technical expertise as part of multidisciplinary teams (including planners, engineers, environmental scientists, technologists).
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients.

Learning & Development

  • Commit to ongoing professional development and self-improvement.
  • Participate actively in professional associations and committees to enhance Dillon’s profile.

    • Qualifications

    What you will need to succeed

  • A degree in civil engineering or urban planning, or a diploma in civil engineering technology with a transportation focus.
  • Qualified to practice in Ontario as a Professional Engineer, Registered Professional Planner, or Certified Engineering Technologist, or eligible within six months.
  • Strong report writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ professional experience.

    The ideal candidate should demonstrate interest, knowledge, and experience in areas such as :

  • Transportation impact studies
  • Parking and road safety studies
  • Traffic calming and warrant analysis
  • Traffic engineering software
  • Active transportation and TDM programs
  • Environmental assessments for transportation facilities
  • Innovation and technology in traffic engineering
