Job description

Our client Betts Electric Ltd. is a familyowned business established in Penticton in 1933. They are a certified electrical contractor that proudly serves the Okanagan and Western Canada. For over 90 years they have provided safe and reliable electrical solutions to customers in the Okanagan and have even been voted Best Electrician for 5 years in a row. They provide a variety of services (both commercial and residential) and have built a reputation for their dedication to delivering quality projects safely on time and on budget. With a variety of projects underway including several custom and spec single family homes multifamily townhouses and apartments and commercial and design build projects they are looking to expand their Project Management team.

They are currently looking to add a Project Manager to their growing team. As the successful candidate you will utilize a strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy to execute projects from estimate to closeout. Your organization strategic leadership and team management skills will assist you to initiate monitor and deliver project plans with minimal supervision. Reporting to the President and working in collaboration with other Project Managers you will be responsible for meeting the project goals in terms of budgets timelines customer communication and customer satisfaction. As a highly organized individual you can seamlessly multitask as you manage multiple projects at one time solve problems creatively and build a cohesive project team.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage and oversee electrical projects from start to finish ensuring that each project is completed on time and within budget by collaborating with the project lead clients contractors and vendors;
  • Meet with contractors and stakeholders to effectively communicate the scope of project budgets progress performance and closeouts;
  • Develop and manage project schedules;
  • Collaborate with the management team to coordinate and schedule projects with customers field techs suppliers and other team members;
  • Work with the project lead to identify all operation aspects of the job including labor equipment consumables and materials along with any subcontractor requirements with attention to budgetary limitations;
  • Maintain project timelines and ensure timely completion of tasks;
  • Manage changes to project scope through a defined change management process;
  • Create and submit RFIs as required;
  • Track project expenses and maintain project budgets including monthly progress invoices for projects;
  • Evaluate project progress and prepare detailed reports for stakeholders including contracts change orders and project reports;
  • Identify possible cost saving opportunities and / or risk items that will occur;
  • Collect and analyze project data to track progress and identify areas for improvement;
  • Promote a safe working culture on sites by enforcing safety regulations work performance standards rules and working conditions;
  • Build and maintain good relationships with suppliers;
  • Attend site meetings as required including trade meetings;
  • Participate in sales and business development by identifying potential project opportunities and new clients;
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement risk management strategies;
  • Facilitate effective communication among project team members and stakeholders;
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Red Seal Electrician with field experience;
  • Field Safety Representative Class B or A;
  • Minimum 5 years experience in electrical project management or construction leadership preferably in the construction industry;
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and codes;
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools including Microsoft Office suite;
  • Experience with Accubid estimating program or similar is considered an asset;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Highly organized with the ability to multitask and manage several projects at once;
  • Exceptional time management skills to meet project deadlines;
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team;
  • Experience working with engineers and architects with a complete understanding of interior and exterior renovations is considered an asset.
  • This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader to join a collaborative team and expand their knowledge and professional growth. We anticipate offering the successful candidate a base salary of approximately $85000 to $120000 dependent upon previous experience and organizational success.
