Entrepreneurial to our core, our talented team members transcend obstacles into opportunities and are successfully transforming mid-market business practices.ResponsibilitiesAssist in the delivery of our consumer insolvency servicesWorking directly with individuals and small businesses in financial difficulty to assess their situation, and assist them in understanding the options available to them under the provisions of the Bankruptcy & Insolvency Act (BIA)Strategic thinking about the Debtor’s needs by understanding all risks and options, conferring with Trustees on higher risk client acceptance engagementsOversee the preparation of documents and required filings such as : Statement of Affairs, Proposals, cash flow statementsConducting follow-up calls and correspondence with DebtorsAdminister formal insolvency appointments including bankruptcies, consumer and Division I proposalsProcessing of insolvency documents during file administration can be dependent upon experience, such as monthly income and expense reports, Statement of Receipts & DisbursementsEnsure compliance with certain deadlines and filing requirements of the BIAContribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to improve work processesIdentify ways to maximize the relationships with stakeholders and deliver added valueAssist in developing and coaching junior team members as required and maintain high quality controlAttend internal MNP and external courses as required to further develop knowledge and skillsDevelop relationships with referral sources, promote MNP insolvency and advisory services through delivery of presentations and participating in community activitiesBackup in providing BIA counselling sessionsSkills and ExperiencePrevious experience working in the area of consumer insolvency, minimum of 2 years experience doing direct consultationsCompletion of the Insolvency Administrator’s CourseCompletion of the Insolvency Counsellor’s Qualification Course is an assetSome type of accounting, payroll or related experience will be an assetStrong computer literacy including effective working skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, MS Teams and other virtual softwareStrong knowledge of Ascend insolvency softwareWorking knowledge of the Bankruptcy & Insolvency ActAbility to work flexible hours in order to meet Debtor’s needs, which can be adjusted based on your circumstancesAttention to detail and proof-readingSome travel may be required.
