Our Red Chris Site Maintenance team is now recruiting for the position of Journeyperson Plumber / Gasfitter with a competitive hourly rate of $55.14. We are seeking an individual for a Fly In, Fly Out opportunity working on a two weeks in, two weeks out rotation.

Purpose of the Role

To support the site maintenance and services department team to complete a variety of maintenance projects around site and in camp.

Accountabilities

Reporting to the Site Maintenance Supervisor, responsibilities include, but are not limited to :

  • Install, repair and maintain various equipment around site.
  • Design, install, test, adjust, maintain and repair lines, appliances, equipment and accessories in various areas of the mine.
  • Manage systems for various gas and fuel types, including propane.
  • Maintain and repair appliances and equipment such as boilers, burners, makeup air units, furnaces, process burners, and various other gas-fired equipment.
  • Assist other maintenance personnel by performing minor building repairs and servicing around site, as required.
  • Install and repair propane piping and associated fittings.
  • Maintain HVAC systems to ministry standards.
  • Demonstrate continuous improvement to enhance operations, decrease turnaround times, and streamline work processes.
  • The mentorship and training of apprentices.
  • Input timesheets, material information, equipment information and work orders electronically via SAP.
  • Practice workplace safety.
  • A team player that works well with others.
  • Other duties as required.

    About You

    Position requirements include, but are not limited to

  • Red Seal Interprovincial Certification in Gas Fitter trade required.
  • Red Seal Plumber Certification.
  • Requires BC Gas Fitters Class A license considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 years related field experience required
  • Experience in HVAC systems an asset
  • Minimum valid Class 5 driver’s license required
  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office and MS Outlook preferred, SAP experience a distinct asset
  • Experience in cold weather environments considered an asset
  • Working at heights and confined spaces.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
