Position Overview :
We are seeking a skilled IT professional to lead an Active Directory Domain Controller System Upgrade project. This role involves reviewing and performing lab testing on 29 servers over a two-week period, followed by a systematic upgrade of each domain, with two weeks allocated per domain. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Active Directory, system upgrades, and lab testing procedures, ensuring a seamless transition and minimal downtime during the process.
Responsibilities :
- Assess the existing Active Directory Environment in 5 different AD Forests.
- Resolve any replication or other issues.
- Identify various AD Roles (FSMO and Global Catalog) hosted on each server in each of the 5 Domains.
- Document each server's roles and services and create a plan to set up new servers with Windows Server 2022 install Directory Services and Promote to DC.
- Raise the Domain Functional Level to Windows Server 2016, migrate from FRS to DFRS and ensure replication.
- Migrate all roles and services such as DNS, DHCP, that are hosted on the old DCs and verify functionality and monitor the systems for issues.
- Demote the Old Domain Controllers and Decommission them.
Qualifications :
Diploma / Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field with a focus on system administration and networkingMinimum 7 years of demonstrated expertise in managing, configuring, and troubleshooting Active Directory environments.Minimum 5 years of experience with tasks such as user account management, group policy configuration, and domain trust relationships.System upgrade and migration experience within AD environments while maintaining security and minimizing downtime.Proficiency in configuring and managing Domain Name System (DNS) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP).Ability to implement and troubleshoot DNS zones, records, and name resolution issues.Experience configuring and maintaining DHCP scopes, reservations, and IP address assignments.Extensive experience working with Microsoft Windows Server 2016 and newer versions.Proficiency in managing server roles, services, and configurations.Skilled in server performance monitoring, security patching, and handling system upgrades.Nice to have Certifications :
