At SMS Equipment, our Product Support Sales Representative / Equipment Sales Representative is responsible for supporting new and used equipment sales and product support sales through specialized technical or scientific knowledge and product applications. This position will establish and maintain strong, professional relationships with customers and manufacturers, solving technical problems and generating customer solutions as a value-added supplier. This position is based in Campbell River, BC.
The salary for this position is $48,000 plus commission.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
- Represent the Company in a professional and safe manner.
- Provide detailed equipment proposals to meet customer’s specific requirements.
- Evaluate used equipment to help provide a market-based value.
- Prepare monthly equipment sales forecasts.
- Act as a technical resource to sales professionals, contributes to sales division by providing deeper understanding of product workings or applications, as well as product limitations and non-traditional product usage.
- Build and maintain long term professional relationships with customers.
- Provide customers with parts and service solutions.
- Report regularly and make recommendations as to how to improve products in order to see continued product improvements.
- Act as a main point of contact for customers and manufacturers.
- Assist in getting new customers set up with KomTrax and VHMS.
- Sell parts to equipment owners, contractors and fleet operators.
- Provide service and solutions regarding OE parts issues.
- Solve technical problems and generates customer solutions as a value-added supplier.
- Liaise with Shop operations and office personnel to ensure efficient and profitable operation of area of responsibility.
- Coordinate all service, warranty, billing, and equipment issues to the appropriate SMS manager.
Qualifications :
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in Industrial Sales. Other requirements include :
Experience in the heavy equipment business and familiarity with construction equipment.Ability to drive a company vehicle for extended periods of time or own and maintain a suitable personal vehicle that can be used for sales calls and other business travel.Possess and maintain a Valid Class 5 drivers license in a Canadian jurisdiction.Excellent communication skills with both customers and OEMs.Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite and working knowledge of computer systems.Self motivated and proactive in keeping abreast of cutting-edge technology and best practices pertaining to the Company’s products and services.As part of our recruitment process you may be required to complete the following :
