Job description

This role has a demonstrated understanding and application of the knowledge and skill required in support of our client’s program management team; and is familiar with most of the technologies and delivery methods and models such as Design Build (DB), and Alternative Financing and Procurement (AFP). The incumbent has an extensive project management track record with a sound technical background in the Rail and Transit industry. The role will call on experience and expertise gained from working within complex, multi-discipline transit design and construction projects and environments. Role and Responsibilities

  • Identify and manage the closure of project interface related issues and other deliverables of the program interface with Civil and Systems components work packages required to deliver our clients projects.
  • Lead support functions, to co-ordinate, facilitate and consolidate the work for the integrated LRT project with civil and systems teams.
  • Assist with the establishment and implementation of clear management plans and approaches to support the adoption of interface management practices and controls across civil and systems scopes.
  • Foster and drive an integrated approach to the design, construction and commissioning planning.
  • Provide specialist support with the further development of interface management and systems integration management plans.
  • Provide specialist advice and support to Project Managers resolving assessing and resolving internal and external project interfaces.
  • Ensures the management of safety is paramount and implements sector best practice processes and procedures.
  • Build strong relationships and competently communicate and negotiate with the stakeholders, including project team members, and also entails building relationships and engaging with a wide variety of experts from project delivery teams, schedulers, technical leads, property, commercial leads, access coordination teams, construction, design, third party developments, utilities, environment and other teams to ensure efficient collaboration and minimize program risk.
  • Experience in Project Management for transit systems will be highly regarded.
  • A high level of knowledge of multiple subject areas or disciplines in transportation sector; through understanding of business objectives, priorities and strategy for infrastructure projects; and understands industry best practices and competitors.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering, or other related disciplines;
  • 8+ years of related work experience is required;
  • Previous systems engineering and integration experience on large transit projects;
  • Track record of interface management, systems integration, system acceptance and rail safety certification;
  • Understanding of construction means and methods;
  • Familiarity with rail transit industry standards, practices, and regulations is required;
  • Ability to interpret electrical drawings and schematic diagrams;
  • Familiar with design management of rail transit systems such as traction power substations, signals / train control, and communications is preferred;
  • Professional Engineer registration is a plus;

  • Potential to perform in a lead capacity and manage engineering staff;
  • Proficient in English, reading, written and oral communication skills;
