Conestoga Meats is continuing to grow and we have immediate openings for FULL-TIME General Labourers.

The Job : As part of the Conestoga team you will play an important role providing specialty and retail pork products to over 30 countries from one of the largest pork processing plants in Canada. You may train on specialty knife or machine operator positions to expand your skills. After being hired, additional plant opportunities may be posted including higher skilled jobs, apprenticeships, driver trainee programs as well as office and leadership positions. We pride ourselves on a high volume of internal promotions and leadership development programs.

Responsibilities

• Work in a fast-paced, meat processing environment and support production teams.
• Transport raw materials, finished products and packaging materials throughout the plant and warehouse (manual or with powered equipment).
• Assist process control and machine operators in performing their duties.
• Measure and prepare ingredients for mixing and grinding where applicable.
• Feed and unload processing machines; load containers and assist with packaging operations.
• Sort, pack, crate and package materials and product; remove filled containers from conveyors.
• Maintain clean work areas and inspect products / packaging for basic quality defects.
• Perform general labour duties and support machine operators and other workers as needed.
• Follow safety and quality practices at all times.
