As General Counsel, you will report to the Vice President, Crown Services, this position works with a high level of independence and as a leader of a team to proactively identify and manage legal risks and issues for CIC and the Crown sector in Saskatchewan.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor Degree and be a member of The Law Society of Saskatchewan (LSS) or eligible for immediate enrolment as a member; with at least ten (10) years of experience in private practice, as corporate in-house counsel or as public sector legal counsel, in areas relevant to CIC and the broader Crown sector in Saskatchewan. You will understand business issues, governance and decision-making structures in the Saskatchewan Crown Sector and Government of Saskatchewan. You possess strong strategic thinking and planning skills combined with sound judgement, to anticipate issues, interests and trends and provide strategic advice that informs executive decision making.
