Position Summary

Within a consultant business setting, our subsidiary is looking for a Health & Safety Specialist who will be responsible for supporting a client within a designated Industry. Reporting to the business leader this position is accountable for a number of responsibilities ranging from overseeing a construction project from a health & safety perspective, assisting in physical hazardous demands analysis, and auditing workplace construction activities to identify and rectify hazard concerns for the client.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The primary responsibility of this role is to manage area project schedules for new equipment installation, new model introduction, shop capacity studies and overall facilitation with related plant production groups.

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the person in this role will support the Paint department's objective to effectively manage capital projects, new model introductions, and provide necessary support to ensure smooth daily operations. In addition, this position will mentor junior engineers and assist in their OJD.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage area project planning, implementation and follow-up to achieve KPIs and critical milestones
  • Create project schedules
  • Support new model introduction (equipment modifications, process jigs, etc.)
  • Create scope of work and define roles / responsibilities within the project
  • Review and / or design mechanical, structural,
  • Oversee several planned construction and commissioning work during non-production time and ensure equipment ready for production start
  • Review site safety management plans for construction jobs
  • Lead process development through process design, machine specification, equipment procurement and installation, safety risk assessments and process trials based on project milestones and events.
  • Execute onsite equipment modifications during non-production time (weekends, holidays, etc.)
  • Participate in team kaizen and organizational improvement activities
  • Interact with inside and outside groups to divide responsibilities and resolve conflicts.
  • Report to a Project Manager in the team.

What you bring

  • Bachelor of Technology, Automotive & Vehicle Engineering Technology or equivalent
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and AutoCAD (Electrical and Mechanical)
  • Experience reviewing mechanical, structural drawings
  • Experience leading problem solving
  • Proficient in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA, Inventor
  • Ability to work weekends, holiday periods, and shutdown to support equipment modifications and installation projects

  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Understanding of Mechatronics
  • Understanding of PLCs, Sensors and Actuators along with Ladder Logic Programming
