What we're looking for from you - If this describes you, we'd love to meet!
Construction, fabrication, or engineering direct or related experience.Minimum 10 years of experience estimating in the oil and gas construction industry, with a focus on fabrication and field constructionStrong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment used in oil and gas projectsProficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Navisworks, MS Office, Google Sheets).Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detailStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.Proven track record of delivering accurate and competitive estimates on complex projectsProfessional certifications (e.g., AACE, PMI) are an assetResponsibilities :
Review Client RFP documents, including Scope of Work, and determine Alstar's role in the projectCommunicate with third parties to determine their scope and pricing for various projectsGather quantity takeoffs, third-party RFQs, and Alstar Labour and Equipment plans to create budgetsComplete estimates ranging from $1MM to over $100MMReview Alstar Proposal and Construction Execution Plans for submission, ensuring quality and completeness of all required tender documentsCoordinate estimating team members on quantity take-offs and subcontractor requests for quotesCollaborate on preliminary construction schedules with internal and external stakeholdersHandover awarded jobs to Project Managers and lead handover meetingsEnsure timely proposal submission and manage post-bid clarificationsCollaborate closely with Senior Management, Project Managers, and Construction ManagersComplete estimates for Labour, Equipment, and Materials (LEM), and review with managementConduct thorough cost analysis of materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor servicesIdentify and assess potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them within the estimation processMaintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, trends, and best practices to ensure accurate and competitive pricingPresent and justify estimates to senior management, clients, and stakeholders in bid review meetings
