About the Role
Mount Royal University’s Faculty of Continuing Education is looking for industry professionals who are interested in teaching adults. As a part-time instructor, you will also have the opportunity to network with others while gaining valuable experience as a subject expert in your field.
Presently, we invite applications for a qualified Management / Financial expert to teach an Understanding and Using Financials course in the Pillars of Management Certificate of Completion program. Classroom / Online instructors are contracted on a per course basis and are required to teach during set dates, typically 4 weeks per course for online and classroom is 2 days (15 hours).

Responsibilities : Instruction :
- Lesson preparation
- Marking / grading of assignments
- Timely written and verbal feedback to students
- Course outline preparation
- Facilitate course delivery using approved curriculum and learning materials
- Review and revision of course assessments
- Applying relevant policies (academic accommodations, Code of Student Academic Integrity, etc.)
Online instruction also includes :
Host virtual Google Meet sessions with students once per week or at least twice during the coursePost regular announcements and participate in discussion board threadsAn online instructor is required to access the course daily; however, there are no predetermined times of the day an instructor is required to be online. Online instructors must have reliable internet service throughout the entire period of the course.Administration :
Marking and submission of course gradesMaintain regular contact with the program administrative teamParticipate in occasional instructor meetings and individual meetings with the program coordinator as requiredQualifications
Post-secondary and / or industry credential in a related field3-5 years of work experience in the management / financial fieldExperience teaching, training, presenting or public speakingFamiliarity with adult education and adult learnersExcellent communication skillsStrong organizational and time management skillsSelf-motivated and self-directedWorking knowledge of copyright and APA citationProficiency with Google WorkspaceProficiency with the D2L learning management system is an asset
