Registered Clinical Counsellor

Lifemark Health Group, Provincial Mental Health Programs & Services

  • Virtual team / program environment (primarily) and in-person clinic services (occasionally)

Lifemark Health Group is seeking a personable and confident Registered Clinical Counsellor to join our awesome team virtuallyatthe Lifemark Physiotherapy Nordel Way Clinicin Surrey, BC.

The RCC will be supporting our interdisciplinaryteam andbe responsible for the provision of intake assessment and treatment services for clients with a variety of psychological and physical diagnoses. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with WorkSafeBC, ICBC, LTD, MVA and Mental Health Work. Our site boasts a robust referral network and several specialty programs, with an opportunity for growth.

Responsibilities :

  • Provide clients with assessment, consultation and psych educational services
  • Active participation in regular team conferences involving client and members of the interdisciplinary teams
  • Communicate effectively with staff members, clients, employers, referral sources, family members and other counsellors
  • Psychological case management input and direction to the therapy teams pertaining toinitial assessment, treatment planning, clients' progress, conflict resolution, stakeholder discussions and problem solving, and discharge planning
  • Quality reporting and communication
  • Orientation and mentoring to assist other team members to effectively manage clients' psycho-social issues

    • Qualifications / Experience :

  • Master’s Degree in Counselling / Clinical Psychology
  • 2 + years of experience in return to work /  physical rehabilitation setting
  • Professional registration with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC)
  • Ability to use creative and structured approaches to assist clients to self-manage
  • Ability to write clear and comprehensive reports and other correspondence
  • Ability to communicate using different styles and methods to suit individual clients and situations
  • Experience with chronic pain and post concussive symptoms are an asset
