DESCRIPTION OF PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Set up and operate CNC milling equipment (VMC / HMC experience an asset)
- Own jobs from setup → prove-out → production → inspection
- Read prints, understand tolerances, and perform in-process checks
- Troubleshoot machining issues (tool wear, chatter, finish, tolerance drift)
- Manage tooling / offsets and support process improvements
- Read, edit, and debug G-code at the machine to ensure safe, stable production
- Keep a clean, safe, organized workspace and support team workflow
SKILLS & TRADE QUALIFICAITONS
Journeyman Machinist or 3rd-Year Apprentice (or equivalent experience)CNC milling experience with setups and offsetsStrong blueprint reading and measuring skillsG-code required : ability to read / interpret and make controlled edits / debug fixesReliable, coachable, and collaborativeSelf Starter and confidence in working in a fast paced shopAbility to troubleshoot and solve problemsSKILLS TO BE CONSIDERED AN ASSETS
CAM exposure (Mastercam or similar)Familiarity with Fanuc-style controls (or comparable)Fixture / work holding experience; probing / tool setters / macrosPosition Information
Located in the Edmonton Area$43.01 (JM Hourly Rate - Note : Apprentice Rate are as follows = 4th year is 90% of JM - 80% is 3rd year, 70% is 2nd year and 60% is 1st year)5 / 2 Rotation ScheduleMust have valid driver's license & own reliable transportationTravel may be required in the Edmonton AreaFull-time
