Ashbury College is a leading not‑for‑profit independent day and boarding school for students in Grades 4‑12 located in Canada's capital, in the traditional unceded territory of the Anishinàbe Algonquin Nation. Overview

Based in central Ottawa, Ashbury College is currently seeking a Senior School Science and IB Chemistry Teacher for a fixed‑term contract of approximately one year, effective March 2, 2026. This role requires someone who brings enthusiasm, creativity, technology integration, collaborative teaching, inclusive practices, and a passion for experiments and demonstrations.

Responsibilities

Teach full‑time (5 classes).

Lead and participate in co‑curricular activities.

Lead a Teacher Advisory Group.

Provide on‑call teaching as required.

Actively participate in Department meetings, faculty teaching and learning opportunities, and whole‑school activities.

Qualifications

Member in good standing with the Ontario College of Teachers.

Experience teaching Ontario science curricula.

Evidence of teaching enhanced by technology.

Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.

Demonstrated experience communicating with students, parents / guardians.

Demonstrated commitment to enriching whole school life for students, including promoting pluralism and enhancing student belonging.

Theory of Knowledge (TOK) teaching experience is an asset.

French language fluency is an asset, as is international experience and fluency in other languages.
