JOB DESCRIPTION
We are currently seeking a Legal Assistant to join our Labour & Employment team. Key responsibilities include preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents such as pleadings, correspondence, contracts, and arbitration materials. This role manages lawyer calendars, coordinates meetings, hearings, and travel, and maintains client files in accordance with firm procedures. The Legal Assistant tracks deadlines and limitation dates, oversees bring‑forward systems, and communicates professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and external parties. Additional duties include assisting with billing, time entry, and expense tracking, while providing general support to the broader team as required.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum 4+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant in Labour & Employment. Graduate of an accredited Legal Administrative Assistant program. Strong understanding of court procedures and document management. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and document management systems (iManage or similar).
