Systems Engineer
The Systems Engineer is responsible for defining, designing, integrating, testing, documenting and deploying solutions while providing advanced technical expertise, backup and continuity within Microsoft Server / Hyper and Azure Cloud services environment.
Responsibilities
- Integration and implementation of solutions with other systems and applications for services in the Enterprise Architecture domain.
- Backup and Continuity administration through Veeam and Azure
- Coordinate, monitor and control services for system patching, upgrades and enhancements
- Understanding and clarifying business requirements, concentrating on the current but keeping future requirements in mind.
- Designing, developing, documenting and implementing technical solutions.
- Creating and maintaining technical documentation (including standards and procedures) as required.
- Working collaboratively with other IT departments and the user community.
- Ensuring proper resolution of any system issues as established in the service-level agreement.
- Facilitating requests for new and upgraded technologies that may involve both hardware and software.
- Escalating incidents in a proper and timely manner per procedure to facilitate resolution.
- Participating in projects as required, and other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Related college diploma or university degree.
- Minimum of five years’ of work experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge and experience in the administration of :
o Microsoft Server HyperV
o Microsoft Server Azure Cloud
o Veeam Backup
o AWS Administration (an asset)
o VMWare Administration
- Good knowledge in security best practices relating to policies, that will include Active Directory.
- Working knowledge of network, protocols and standards and platforms, including : TCP / IP, OSPF, VLANs and subnetting, Cisco
- Affluent abilities with core applications, including MS Office and Google Apps
This a permanent hybrid role located in downtown Toronto with an annual salary of $92,000.00-$100,000.00 plus bonus and benefits.
