Intermediate Electrical Engineer

Job Title : Electrical EngineerLocation : Ontario, CanadaJob Type : Full-timeJob Summary : We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Engineer with a strong background in Ontario Building Codes and Electrical Construction, ideally within the Commercial or Manufacturing sectors. The successful candidate will possess a minimum of two years of hands-on experience with Ontario Building Codes and will either hold a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or be an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) with at least two years of exposure to Ontario’s Building Codes.Key Responsibilities : Ensure electrical systems comply with Ontario Building Codes, industry standards, and regulations.Develop, review, and approve electrical designs for commercial and manufacturing building projects.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects and engineers, to develop electrical power distribution designs for large-scale projects.Provide expertise in lighting, fire alarms, communication systems, and process control for both new and existing buildings.Collaborate with project teams to ensure the timely and efficient execution of electrical construction tasks.Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting for electrical systems during construction phases.Perform site inspections and assessments to ensure the correct installation and compliance of electrical systems.Review and interpret electrical plans, specifications, and code requirements to meet the necessary standards.Assist in the preparation of project estimates and scope of work documents.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Ontario Building Codes and electrical standards.Work closely with architects, contractors, and other engineering professionals to ensure smooth project progression.Required Qualifications : Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) with at least two years of Ontario Building Codes exposure.Minimum of two years of experience working with Ontario Building Codes.Proven experience in Electrical Construction within Commercial or Manufacturing sectors.Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and regulations.Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.Preferred Skills : Knowledge of additional building codes and electrical standards beyond Ontario.Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other electrical design software.Ability to mentor junior engineers or technicians.
