Key Accountabilities

Reporting to the CEO of Rosedale International Education, the Director of Teaching and Learning will work collaboratively with senior leaders on the following :

Rosedale Course Development and Continuing Improvement

  • Ensure accountability for maintaining high standards in new course development and the upgrading and renewal of courses and evaluations, with objectives of accelerating competency development, enhancing student academic achievement and reflecting Rosedale’s Transformative Approach to Learning
  • Collaborate with Central Evaluations to evolve summative evaluation strategies and item development, enhancing learning effectiveness through the improvement of instructional content and formative assessment, based on insights from Global High School learning data collection and analytics.
  • Improve Rosedale course content and evaluation practices by studying and adopting industry best practices from IB, AP, A-level etc.
  • Guide Project Management in developing practices to manage content development and quality assurance, utilizing standard methodologies and measurable metrics.

Teaching and Learning Practices Across Partner School Network

  • Develop structured practices to guide Rosedale Global High School’s community-level instructional excellence, providing guidance to partner schools.
  • Provide effective strategies and approaches in teaching and learning to accelerate the student learning process, improve academic English skills, and enhance learning outcomes cross the Rosedale partner school network, using insights developed from diverse data collection and analytics.
  • Offer guidance to the Head of Teacher Teaching to further enhance Rosedale teacher development programs, enabling the successful implementation of instructional excellence best practices.
  • Participate in program leadership meetings with priority partner schools, led by Rosedale Academic Operations, offering customized recommendations and support on Academic Excellence of programs.
  • Sector-Level Educational Leadership Development

  • Advocate Rosedale’s Global Education Leadership and international curriculum solutions through conferences, speeches, presentations, webinars, and meetings with various stakeholders and audiences.
  • Collaborate with Rosedale University Relations and Education Partnership Development to work on diverse educational leadership initiatives (e.g., white papers, research, instructional leadership programs) in partnership with leading global universities in the UK, Canada, US and school associations in different countries.
  • Work with the Rosedale marketing team to promote Rosedale’s international curriculum solutions and the academic excellence of teaching and learning in various formats.
  • Support Rosedale partnership development through academic presentations to perspective partners.
  • Qualifications and Requirements

  • 10+ years of academic leadership experiences at the K-12 level
  • Extensive leadership experience in teaching and learning, with structured methodology and practice development capabilities
  • In-depth knowledge and leadership experience in curriculum development and content effectiveness assessment
  • Knowledge and experience in leading large-scale assessment, item development and assessment
  • Deep understanding of teaching management and academic measurements in schools
  • Proven track record of success in developing methodologies and practices to improve teaching effectiveness and learning outcomes
  • Strong skills in cross-region and cross-team collaboration
  • Experience in working with various stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills in English; excellent presentation skills
  • University degree
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively a fast-paced corporate environment
  • Willingness to travel internationally
  • Work location policy

    Hybrid. The candidate should be able and willing to commute to Rosedale’s HQ Office in Markham at least two days a week.
