EXP’s Ottawa office is seeking a Contract Administrator to join our team and lead the construction phase on various municipal and industrial / building projects.
Your work environment at EXP
- Monitor compliance with quality and quantity control measures and contractual obligations between EXP and the client.
- Proven ability to read drawings for municipal, industrial, and building projects.
- Prepare various internal reports, correspondences, and status reports for assigned projects.
- Monitor project budget, expenses, payment terms, and other financial obligations.
- Review contractor submissions (critical path schedules, change proposals, etc.) for compliance with contractual obligations and advise the client and contractor accordingly.
- Negotiate change orders, pricing issues, and construction claims.
- Prepare agendas, attend meetings, and take minutes.
- Review quantities for payments, coordinate with field staff, and process contractor payments.
- Coordinate the review of shop drawings.
- Confirm the qualifications and certifications of all contractor employees, resources, and equipment.
- Review environmental and traffic control plans and report any discrepancies.
- Ensure compliance with design standards, building codes, Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications / Drawings (OPSS / OPSDs), and related methods and materials.
- Conduct site inspections as needed and report daily on contractor’s work compliance with standards, OHSA, and other laws.
- Provide updates and reports to the project manager and supervisor.
What your experience looks like
At least 4+ years of experience focusing on the construction phase of municipal, building, and industrial projects.P.Eng. or CET designation is required, along with similar project experience.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong technical, industrial, and building knowledge, with a good understanding of codes and construction practices.Positive attitude and attention to detail.Excellent written and oral communication skills with co-workers, clients, contractors, and authorities.Some travel may be required.About the company
