How it all started

Once upon a time in northern Minnesota, our founder Chad Halvorson found himself frustrated by having to call the grocery store where he worked or drive all the way in just to check his schedule.

He knew there had to be a better way, and When I Work was born.

How we work

We are a remote-first company, so we mostly work from home. If you want to work in an office, we have a really cool one in downtown Minneapolis.

Feel free to claim a desk! No matter where you work, though, you’ll find that we have a ton of ways to stay connected and we like to have fun.
