Industrial or Construction Maintenance Millwright

Location : Close to Cornwall, Ontario

Shift : Continental Rotation (day / night)

Pay : 42.77 + shift premiums and OT

A world-class steel producer in Ontario is looking for a CERTIFIED : Industrial or Construction & Maintenance Millwright to join our maintenance departments. Responsibilities

• instructions covering scheduled and emergency repairs. Install and inspect the work to be done. Read drawings and precision measuring tools. Perform work with a minimum of direction.
• mill equipment for defects such as misalignment, wear, insufficient lubrication, etc. Determine the best way of making repairs to minimize production interruptions. Advise on the condition of the plant’s equipment.
• clean, adjust, repair, align, replace, install, maintain, assemble, and lubricate mechanical equipment. Make either temporary or permanent repairs. Operate maintenance shop tools and equipment.
• and repair all plant hydraulic, water, lubrication, and air or gas systems and their associated equipment. Determine the cause of failure and decide on the best method and materials to expedite proper economical repairs to restore equipment operation.
• with the repair crew as directed on an emergency basis. Erect scaffolds and perform crane hooking / rigging as required.
• minor welding, burning, and pipefitting jobs as required.
• instructions, drawings, and work orders for jobs. Interpret drawings, plan the details for the working procedure, and select tools and materials required.
• the CMMS system.
• for the handling of materials and equipment to perform the job.
• with other trades, as required, on jobs necessary to maintain mill production.
• feedback to the lead hand and / or foreman about job status.
• the immediate working area in a clean and orderly condition.
• all safety rules.
