This position will report to the Mill Maintenance General Foreman.
What you will do :
- Execute and supervise the work tasks for the welding and coating department
- Maintain a safe working environment by upholding standards, being active and knowledgeable in safety programs and responding to crew safety concerns
- Schedule daily work assignments for the crew
- Assist in the planning process for the crew
- Conduct and document regular safety meetings
- Understand and abide by the collective agreement and relevant regulations
- Execute cost saving opportunities when available
- Maintain a high level of reliability in the area
- Technical support for Project Engineering initiatives
What you will bring :
Must hold a Journeyperson certificate in welding or related trade and a Grade 12 Diploma or GED EquivalencyMust hold and maintain certification as a CWB welding supervisorMinimum 5 years shop fabrication experienceEffective engagement and daily communication of work tasksGood computer skills, including the use of EAM software and Microsoft OfficeOrganized to develop a daily schedule with minimal break in workUnderstanding of welding quality assurance programsRegular assessment of trade skills and development of training plansUnderstanding of industrial coatings and continued education of new technologyHigh attention to detail and very accurate with ability to read engineered drawings
