Job Summary
Reporting to the Regional Service Manager, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service by providing on-site installation, customer training, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance of our products in an efficient and timely manner.
This is a hands-on position.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform field service repairs on-site at the customer’s location.
- Install and setup equipment as required
- Provide end-user training as required
- Perform planned maintenance on warranty and contract equipment as required
- Provide end-user telephone support
- Be available for after-hours on-call service when needed
- Support and assist other technicians as needed
- Provide timely and accurate documentation of jobs as required
- Ensure inventory is accurate and kept up to date. Perform regular inventory counts
- Keep current on technical service news bulletins and new products
- Attend training as required
- Maintain a service vehicle. Monitor the service forum and be an active participant in it
- Be available for after-hours on-call service when needed
- Able to work in shifts. Overnight stays out of town may be required occasionally. Early starts are typical
- Stand, squatting, and kneeling in various environments for long periods required
- Driving long distances between customer locations
- Follow safety standards in working with multiple services, tools, and equipment
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.
- Prior experience in field service preferred.
- Must have a valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Must enjoy traveling and working out in the field
- Must be able to work effectively with minimal or no supervision
- Knowledge of customer service principles
- Must have a solid mechanical aptitude and a good understanding of electrical schematics and electronics
- Advanced network computer skills
- Hands-on experience in software, hardware, and peripheral devices
- Working knowledge of Multimedia systems, LAN, and Wireless networks
- Read schematics and technical manuals
- Exposure to general networking protocols, specifically TCP / IP
- Good analytical skills for troubleshooting and diagnostics
