Job description

We’re looking for a Store Manager (in training) to join our Healthy Planet family! The selected candidate will be able to wear multiple hats throughout the day and go above and beyond to ensure that the store is running smoothly. In addition to the general job duties, a store manager is required to be customer-service oriented, tech-savy, calm under stressful circumstances, and most importantly, always willing to step up to the challenge to make Healthy Planet thrive and excel.ResponsibilitiesEnsure that the store is operating optimallyMaintain adequate inventory and stock based on monthly salesOrganize products based on expiry dates and promotionsOrder inventory for the store using the ‘Just In Time’ systemReduce theft by implementing theft reduction proceduresNegotiate with suppliers and vendorsEngage in marketing and sales promotionsCreate monthly sale flyer endcaps based on products and brands that have the potential to do very wellCreate merchandising displays for the monthly sale itemsAchieve sales objectives whilst managing allocated budgets and track progressMaintain strong relationships with customers and brand representatives to meet their requirementsOverlook staff, create staff schedules that meet the stores needs, submit these schedules to the HR Department bi-weekly, ensure that the working environment is safe, professional and productive for staff and customers, deal with employee issues accordingly and confidentiallyRecruit and filter for potential candidates , orient and train new candidates, develop and build the new candidates into strong team players and perform staff evaluations and help where neededProvide product and development training for employees on a monthly basisEnsure all policies, programs and procedures are adequately followed and regulated such as Health and Safety, Anti-discrimination / harassment, Fairness and integrityMaintain a solid technical foundation of all general IT related operations in the store such as POS systems, internet, label printers, Security Cameras and Alarm Systems & WiFiResponsible for the day to day financial operationsOpen and close cash tills when the store opens and store closesUpload daily sales in a timely mannerDeposit money to bank routinelyBalance purchase to sales ratio to ensure the business is operating optimallyRequirementsFluent in English, both written and verbalDegree / Diploma in Business Management or a related field required5-7 years’ experience in retail store management5 years’ experience managing multiple store locationsValid Driver’s LicenseStrong interpersonal communication, leadership and decision making skillsExcellent time management and organization skillsAbility to create and implement strong training programs in accordance to store needsSolid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.Experience in all aspects of sales, including growth strategies, distribution channel management, account development, and business planning.Strong knowledge of retail and / or wholesale sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques.Ability to supervise and train employees, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.Excellent teamwork and team building skills.Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with corporate departments, key business partners, and customers.What We OfferAwesome work environment and company cultureMedical Benefits and flex spending account for Full-time employeesGoodlife Corporate membershipEmployee discountsCareer focused continuing educationInternal opportunities for growthAt Healthy Planet we provide a fair and equal employment opportunity for all team members and candidates regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, or disability.
