JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Associate plays a crucial role in the production team. This position involves operating, maintaining, and providing operational support for vacuum coating, UV casting, and other equipment. Key responsibilities include production operational support, cleaning production equipment, preparing for production cycles and participating in Thurso site’s preventive maintenance program. The operator will work closely with the production and engineering teams to implement process improvements and contribute to the business needs through continuous improvement initiatives. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Operate, maintain, and support vacuum coating, UV casting, and other relevant systems.
• Perform roll coater cleaning and preparation procedures to ensure optimal performance and adherence to scheduled cycle times.
• Closely works with Maintenance supervisor and Coating lead to perform scheduled maintenance on the equipment.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by keeping the workspace organized and following safety protocols.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the manager or supervisor.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential functions of this job.

• High School Diploma, Millwright or 2-year technology diploma, or an equivalent certification or qualification.
• Possess basic maintenance skills, including familiarity with common hand and power tools and how to properly use them (Hammer, wrench, screwdrivers, pliers, putty knife, etc.)
• Ability to read, interpret, and communicate work instructions and specifications.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Project, Teams, and Outlook.

Assets

• 0–1 year of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.

WORK REQUIREMENTS

Environment : Work is performed primarily in a standard [office/warehouse/lab] environment. Employees may work under the stress of regular interdepartmental interaction and pressure to meet various deadlines.

Physical : Essential functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an [office/warehouse/lab] setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time; must be able to hear and verbally communicate in order to exchange information in person or over the phone; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach and twist; to lift, carry, push and/or pull up to 25 pounds of weight; to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement; to occasionally travel to other locations using various modes of private or commercial transportation.
