Manager, Tax & Assurance

We are looking for an experienced Manager, Tax and Assurance to join a dynamic public practice firm in Winnipeg, Manitoba. In this leadership role, you will oversee key tax and assurance functions, working directly with clients across diverse industries. This position offers the opportunity to mentor less experienced staff, manage complex engagements, and contribute to the firm’s ongoing growth and success.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee assurance engagements, including review and compilation tasks, ensuring compliance with high standards.
• Manage corporate and personal tax compliance, planning, and advisory projects to meet client needs.
• Review and finalize financial statements, working papers, and tax returns prepared by team members for accuracy and completeness.
• Provide expert guidance on Canadian accounting standards and tax regulations, ensuring technical excellence.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and high-quality service delivery.
• Supervise, mentor, and support the development of less experienced staff members.
• Identify opportunities to streamline internal processes and enhance overall client service.
• Collaborate with partners on business development initiatives and contribute to firm-wide strategies.
• Chartered Accountant (CPA) designation or equivalent is required.
• At least 5–7 years of experience in public practice, with a focus on both tax and assurance.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian accounting standards and income tax regulations.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency in accounting and tax software, such as CaseWare, CaseView, and TaxPrep.
• Experience with financial auditing, tax compliance, and research methodologies.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional client service and fostering growth within the team.
