Job Title: MillwrightJob Description

As a Millwright, you will be responsible for inspecting, installing, repairing, replacing, and adjusting mechanical equipment within the plant. You will also service mechanical aspects of pumps, motors, cranes, and hydraulic/pneumatic systems while ensuring minimal interruption to production processes.

Responsibilities

• Receive instructions, prints, and work orders for scheduled and emergency repairs, installations, and inspections.
• Determine the best repair methods to minimize production interruptions.
• Advise on immediate shutdowns to prevent damage or assess if continued operation is safe.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, repairs, and material usage using computerized maintenance management software (CMMS), work orders, logbooks, and checklists.
• Perform rounds to check machinery conditions, identifying abnormalities and ensuring machine functions are operating within normal specifications.
• Conduct assigned maintenance work on both large and small production units.
• Operate power-driven mobile equipment and ordinary crane hooking.

Essential Skills

• Certificate of Qualification (Industrial Mechanic/Millwright – 433A) as recognized by Skilled Trades Ontario.
• Experience in a heavy manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude with exposure to bearings, pneumatics, hydraulics, lubrication, and rotating equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Basic computer experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in welding, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and fabrication.
• Ability to work with heavy equipment, industrial maintenance, and power tools.
• Familiarity with blueprints, schematics, and industrial installations.

Work Environment

This position is based in a heavy industrial steel plant with a rotating continental schedule, including shifts from 6 am to 6 pm, with seven shifts every two weeks and every other weekend off.
