Position Overview

As our Construction Manager, you’ll be responsible for delivering and completing capital projects using your construction management expertise.

You’ll also work with multiple teams to help identify key resources on any given project while providing direction to meet project objectives.

More importantly, safety is always on your mind and your goal is to hit your deliverables while ensuring every employee stays safe no matter the situation.

In this role, you will :

  • Work to deliver projects efficiently and safety
  • Coordinate with various stakeholders to ensure the scope and progress of a project is on track
  • Compile accurate construction estimated, provide detailed projects plans
  • Identify hazards and implement mitigations plans to reduce risk
  • Work first hand with business units and support them with any accounts payable and business process-related support

In year 1, you will :

  • Manage the delivery of various multiple projects
  • Collaborate and build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders across the company
  • Enhance and maintain safety measures during the execution of projects

In year 2, you will :

  • Create opportunities to improve project delivery processes
  • Manage projects to exceed targets for reliability
  • Build on your relationships and continue to develop open and honest collaborative partnerships with stakeholders
  • Develop a strong sense of customer service when delivering on projects

What it takes :

  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Extraordinary communication skills and a passion to collaborate
  • A university degree with a minimum of 3-5 years supervisory experience, or an equivalent combination of education (trade / technologist certification), training and experience, with a supplementary education in project management, finance or accounting
  • Electrical utility (substation, transmission and distribution and generation) experience in project construction
  • Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Excel, SAP and Primavera scheduling software
