  • Our client, a leading financial company, is hiring an Operations Engineer with JBOSS on a contract basis

    Summary :

    Key Job Functions / Responsibilities :

    • Maintain and manage ASP / SaaS-based production system, to ensure its availability, performance, scalability, and security.
    • Establish and maintain Middleware (JBoss or Websphere) components. This includes all aspects of running a SaaS Middleware solution.
    • Write documentation as necessary
    • Work closely with Operations & Infrastructure team members, Project Managers, Software Development and Business Analysts to ensure successful delivery for all projects.
    • Responsible for general systems administration, including system configuration management, OS installations, security updates, and urgent system patching.
    • Software code deployment, upgrades and client support as required.
    • Management of systems in a virtualized environment to ensure availability.
    • Assist the team in migration and provisioning of various Linux / Unix servers.
    • Write and implement scripts to automate tasks for continuous process improvements.
    • Ensure critical system security through the use of best-in-class security solutions.
    • Work includes participation in afterhours, weekend work and participation in on-call rotation for 24 / 7 support as required.
    • Other duties as assigned by management.
    • Qualifications :

    • Deep hands-on experience of J2EE Application servers like WebSphere, JBoss, or Class loader policies.
    • Experience with VMWare Virtual Machines, including in-depth experience in support, and storage administration.
    • Strong understanding of load balancer, firewalls, switches, routers, VPN, TCP / IP, SSL, DNS, DHCP, TFTP, PXE.
    • Team player : intra- and inter-departmental cooperation that fosters morale and productivity.
    • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
    • Able to understand the impact of decisions on other disciplines.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to details
    • A proactive, “service-first” attitude combined with ability to work independently on projects with tight deadlines and minimal supervision.
    • Bachelor’s degree, college diploma or exceptional equivalent work experience
    • 3+ years of experience in System Administration for Red Hat / CentOS / RPM-based Linux
    • 2+ years of experience in managing Web Application servers.
    • Prior experience in managing AIX / Unix servers is preferred.
    • Experience with Python, Perl, Korn / Bash, or PowerShell scripting.
    • Experience with automated tools and software deployment, configuration management (Ansible) and system monitoring is an asset.
    • Financial business experience is considered an asset.
    • Nice to have :

    • Experience with Oracle databases.
    • Certificate implementation and management (SSL certificate).
    • Knowledge of Enterprise Schedulers such as Active Batch.
    • Experience in Windows System Administration is considered an asset.
    • Prior experience with a Data center move is considered a definite asset.
