Assiniboine Community College’s campuses are located on the traditional territories of Treaty No. 1 and Treaty No. 2, as well as the shared traditional lands of Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, Dene and Anishinabek / Ojibwe peoples, and the national homeland of the Red River Metis. Deeply committed to reconciliation and recognized as a national leader in community-based programs, especially in remote and rural areas, Assiniboine Community College has provided exceptional learning experiences through applied education and research for over 60 years. With campuses in Brandon, Dauphin, Portage La Prairie, Winnipeg, and other locations, the college offers more than 60 unique certificate, diploma, and advanced credential programs to over 4,100 full-time students across various disciplines. Ambitious plans for continued growth include additional and expanded programs designed to align student outcomes with the local and national labour market.
Assiniboine Community College is currently seeking an Associate Dean in the School of Nursing. This dynamic position, plays a pivotal role in aligning the School’s academic initiatives with college priorities and engages with external partners, including professional associations, government entities, employers, and communities. Reporting directly to the Dean, School of Nursing, the Associate Dean provides academic and operational leadership, fostering collaborative decision-making, overseeing high-quality programs and exceptional teaching, and deepening community partnerships during a period of exciting growth. The ideal candidate will be poised to be a strong contender for the position of Dean when the current incumbent retires, demonstrating the motivation and potential for this Senior Leadership role.
The ideal candidate for the Associate Dean position will have a graduate degree in Nursing or a related field, is a Manitoba licensed LPN or RN in good standing (or eligible to be licensed) and has leadership experience in a post-secondary setting. The candidate should demonstrate an unwavering commitment to reconciliation, quality, and student success, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Strong analytical abilities are crucial for fostering data-driven and collegial decision-making. The candidate should showcase the capacity to work effectively with faculty, staff, students, and external partners to shape programs and partnerships aligned with School and College priorities. Collaboration, strategic leadership, and a passion for academic quality and relationship-building are key attributes for success in this role.
