On behalf of our client, we are currently recruiting a Finance Manager to join their team of dedicated professionals in Bedford, Nova Scotia.
Reporting to the Controller , the Finance Manager will serve as a key liaison between Accounting and Operations – ensuring alignment between financial reporting and business performance. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in public accounting, financial controls, and operational finance, with additional experience in industries such as manufacturing, warehousing, or real estate considered highly valuable. This is a hands‑on leadership role designed for an experienced Accounting professional who thrives in a fast‑paced, agile environment. The Finance Manager will lead a team of Accountants, ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and strong financial controls.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
Qualifications
As the ideal candidate, you are a driven finance professional possessing a minimum 3+ years of progressive Finance / Accounting experience, including leadership of Accounting teams. Proven leadership experience, including coaching and developing direct reports, is essential. A background in Public Accounting, along with ERP Implementation experience, will be preferred. Experience with manufacturing, warehousing, and / or real estate, will be considered a strong asset. Strong knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting, along with demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis, will be key to success in this role. With exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, you possess strong business acumen and are highly analytical by nature. The ability to work effectively in a multi‑business portfolio with varying industry requirements, as well as experience integrating Accounting with operational functions, will be highly valued. Relevant education along with a CPA designation is required.
