Job Description
To assess, plan and implement care on an acute surgical unit as a member of a multidisciplinary general and orthopaedic surgical team.
Qualifications
- Current Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
- Recent general and orthopaedic surgical nursing experience required.
- Strong assessment skills, reliable, flexible, self-directed professional whom is able to work effectively and collaboratively with multidisciplinary team.
- Sound patient care nursing skills combined with effective communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Skills in CV lines, PCA pumps, TPN, venipuncture and IV therapy is an asset.
- Knowledge of APS an asset.
- Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record required.

Additional Information
Hours : Monday to Sunday, various rotating 12 hour shifts (hours subject to change based on operational needs)
