Job Description : Underwriter Assistant

  • Duration : Contract 3-6 months (potential extensions) Starting January / February 2025
  • Location : Downtown Toronto, Hybrid 1-2 days per week in the office.

Overview :

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Underwriter Assistant to join our client's team of Commercial Property & Casualty Underwriters. In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting the underwriting process by gathering essential data, preparing documents, and ensuring accurate documentation of underwriting decisions. If you’re technically savvy, proficient with internal systems, and have a knack for using MS Excel effectively, we encourage you to apply!

Responsibilities :

  • Data Gathering : Retrieve relevant information from various internal systems, databases, and external sources.
  • Document Preparation : Create and organize documents based on the gathered data, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with the Underwriting Team to provide them with the necessary information for documenting underwriting decisions.
  • Technical Proficiency : Utilize internal systems efficiently and demonstrate proficiency in MS Excel for data analysis and presentation.
  • Attention to Detail : Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established guidelines.
  • Time Management : Prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines and contribute to the team’s success.
  • Qualifications :

  • Experience : 3+ years of experience as an underwriting assistant supporting commercial P&C Underwriters .
  • Technical Skills :

  • Proficiency in using internal systems and databases.
  • Strong command of MS Excel for data manipulation and reporting.
  • Communication : Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team Player : Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Adaptability : Willingness to learn and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Attention to Detail : A meticulous approach to data handling and document preparation.
