- Hours : Fri 4pm to 10 : 30pm, Sat & Sun 6am to 6pm.
- MUST be an experienced mill & lathe operator, preferred 5+ years of experience.
- Can work without supervision.

Skills or Experience Requirements
Ability to speak, read and write English.High school diploma / GED or equivalent.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Basic computer experience (Internet Explorer / Microsoft Word).Knowledge of the imperial measurement system (inch / pound / feet).Knowledge of basic hand tools (hammer / wrench / screwdriver).Knowledge of basic power tools (drill / saw / grinder).Knowledge of CNC programming and control operations.Knowledge of safe and effective CNC setup practices.Knowledge of machine tooling and its use.Minimum 3 years of experience in CNC operations.Knowledge
Machine Operation : knowledge of tool geometry offsets, machine controls, and basic machine operation.Insert sizes and naming conventions; basic machine maintenance protocols; ability to use basic shop tooling (grinders, stampers, deburring).Machine Programming
Knowledge of G-code.Ability to program and set up simple parts.Ability to troubleshoot and improve existing programs.Adherence to Plainsman programming procedures and revision control.Machine Setup
Knowledge of proper machine setup practices and appropriate tooling usage.Adherence to program setup sheet procedures.Quality of Work
Adherence to Plainsman Mfg quality standards and machining parts to required dimensions with minimal scrap.Thoroughness and pride in all tasks assigned by the supervisor.Safety
Adhere to the safety program.The above responsibilities are the basic expectations of any CNC operator; actions beyond these will be viewed favorably at review time.
Secondary Responsibilities
The below tasks may be asked of any CNC operator to be performed as needed.They should be viewed as going above and beyond the expectations outlined above, during spare time, and will be considered favorably during reviews.Cleaning and deburring parts.Emptying chip bins and disposing of waste / oil coolant appropriately.Stamping.Washing shop floors.5S organizing.Assembly of components as needed.During busy periods assist Supervisor and / or manager in the operation of the shop.During periods of the Supervisor's absence take over some responsibilities of the operation of the shop.About Plainsman Mfg.
