Calculate the cost of truck repairs and new parts if needed.Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using GPS equipment, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions.Address customers' complaints or concerns.Maintain professionalism in customer service.Arrange travel, related itineraries and make reservations.Drive as part of a two‑person team or convoy.Load and unload goods.Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes.Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials.Oversee vehicle condition and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment.Pay and receive payments for goods.Perform brake adjustments.Perform emergency roadside repairs.Perform pre‑trip, en‑route and post‑trip inspections; oversee all aspects of vehicle.Perform preventive maintenance.Receive and relay information to central dispatch.Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption.Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo.Transport and handle dangerous goods.Credentials
AZ class license.Experience and Specialization
Documentation knowledge : driver logbook, inspection reports (pre‑trip, in‑route, post‑trip), maintenance and repair reports, trip reports.Communication systems : operate GPS and other navigation equipment.Transportation / travel : local, long‑haul, provincial / territorial.Additional Information
Security and safety : criminal record check, driving record check (abstract).Transportation / travel : valid driver’s licence, willingness to travel cross‑border.Work conditions and physical capabilities : attention to detail, large workload, physically demanding, sitting.Weight handling : up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).Personal suitability : organized, reliable, hardworking.Employment Groups
